About the CEO

Yvonne E. Jones is the Founder and CEO  of D.E.S.T.I.N.E.D. to Succeed, Inc.  Her professional expertise includes the legal field, higher education, youth development, and as an Admissions Counselor for “at promise” youths.  She creates a learning environment that promotes awareness and enhances understanding in order to begin healthy and productive partnerships between schools, families, and communities.

Mrs. Jones draws upon 12 years in the legal field with various local law firms.  As Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Finance and Administration at Southern CT State University in New Haven, Connecticut, she served for 6 1/2 years as an expert in her craft assisting with the University’s strategic planning and community collaborations.  Yvonne also served as Community Outreach Liaison for Hamden Public Schools, where she established and maintained lines of communication between schools, families, and the community.  She was the channel of communication for relaying concerns, thoughts, and attitudes of parents.

Mrs. Jones previously served as Admissions Counselor for Career Development Systems, Inc. d/b/a New Haven Job Corps, a federally funded job training program.  In addition, she served as a Community Development Coordinator for Girl Scouts of Connecticut, where she delivered programming, facilitated a College Pathways program, and cultivated Workforce Alliances, an initiative partnering businesses with the Girl Scouts organization.

Mrs. Jones benefits from her hands-on experience as the Site Coordinator at the after-school program for the Harris and Tucker School in Hamden, CT for grades K-8.  Mrs. Jones took many steps to improve the after-school program during her tenure.  These steps were innovative and resulted in an increase in parent participation and a new look for the after-school program.

She holds a bachelors degree in Human Services (Magna Cum Laude) from Springfield College, in Springfield, MA, certifications in Parent Advocacy from the Connecticut Commission on Children’s New Haven Parent Leadership Training Institute, and Credentialing in After-School Education from Charter Oak College.  In March 2012, Mrs. Jones graduated from the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.  She is licensed by the State of Connecticut as a Notary Public and holds certifications in CPR and First Aid.
